Accessories
For a wide range of uses for pneumatic motors.

some examples

Ball cock

In the event of longer periods of standstill, the closed ball cock prevents leak losses to the following components and at the motor's control slide. It allows servicing to be carried out on the motor and the upstream components.

Socket dirt trap

To protect the valve units from soiling
Thread connection G1, G1½, G2
Housing made of nickel-plated brass
Stainless steel strainer
Mesh width 0.25 mm

Oiler

The oiler is mounted in the pneumatic pipe and supplies the working air with an oil mist for lubrication and avoidance of corrosion of the control slide, the rotors and bearings.

Exhaust throttle and sound absorbers

The exhaust throttle can be used to throttle the exhaust air flow from the pneumatic motor, to reduce and adjust the motor speed.

The sound absorber with axial air outlet combines the requirements:

-          high blow-off quantity

-          short ventilation time

-          high sound absorption

It reduces the sound pressure level by approx. 10 to 15 dba

Maintenance unit

Comprises a humidity separator, pressure-reducing valve and oiler, and is situated between the ball cock and motor inlet.

The water separator in the water level indicator filters humidity out of the air in order to prevent icing up after air expansion in the motor casing and at the air outlet during permanent operation.

The working pressure, which should be as constant as possible, is set at the pressure-reducing valve. The oiler with oil level indicator supplies the working air with an oil mist for lubrication and avoidance of corrosion of the control slide, the rotors and bearings.

Spring pressure disc brake

The standstill holding brake keeps the drive in position under load with a pressure-less pneumatic motor.

It is opened pneumatically through a valve (4 bar) and closed using spring force when the pneumatic pressure is switched off.

Coupling

A pneumatic coupling is used e.g. with emergency drives which are not designed to run all the time. In an emergency, the coupling is switched automatically and the pneumatic motor takes over the drive through the non-positive connected coupling. The coupling is opened using spring force and becomes non-positive under pneumatic pressure which is tapped from the measuring connections of the pneumatic motor.

As soon as the pneumatic motor delivers its torque, the coupling switches.

Planetary gears

Standard planetary gears can be connected downstream from the pneumatic motor. In terms of design, these coaxial gears are much smaller than the pneumatic motor and have very tight gear stages.

1-stage i= 3.08 - 7.25

2-stage i= 10.04 - 50.30

3-stage i= 60.00 - 320.00

Bevel helical gear

Bevel helical gears have an outlet offset by 90° to the pneumatic motor. With the outlet shaft either on the right, left or on both sides. Since the outlet is at a right angle, the pneumatic motor is at a right angle to the drive axis, whereby the design length (coaxial) is shortened.

Bevel helical gears have to be attached to the frame like the pneumatic motor for reasons of weight.

i= 4.4 - 730

Pneumatic switch cabinet

For applications with the pneumatic toothed wheel motors type DMO..., we have complete pneumatic control units available which are designed according to your requirements.

For example a pneumatic switch cabinet for an emergency function, to automatically put a furnace into the safety range through the pneumatic toothed wheel motor in the event of a main drive failing. All switching functions are available redundant to guarantee safety if a valve fails.

The final safety function is emergency manual operation which is also available.

Accessories

For use in a wide range of application variants with hydraulic motors.

some examples

Oil surge tank with oil level control

Coaxial or angular gears have to be completely filled with oil when installed vertically.

During the filling process, an air bubble can form in the upper part on the level of the shaft seal, this air bubble has to be eliminated to prevent insufficient lubrication taking place. Since the oil volume increases as temperature increases, a surge tank with oil level control and ventilation filter has to be installed as a compensation measure. This prevents damaging excess pressure inside the gear.

Torque fittings

Slip-on gear mechanisms are attached to the drive shaft using shrink discs. They are not flanged on rigidly, rather supported "softly" with the aid of torque fittings. This means that no angular offset can occur, which leads to additional bending torque and an increased load on the gear mechanism. The attachment point of the torque support should be able to move freely in the longitudinal direction of the shaft. In the tangential direction, cushioning elements are provided to reduce the impact load.

Shrink discs

Shrink discs are removable shaft to collar connections. They are used with gear motors of the slip-on type. They are resistant to dirt, have no moving parts and are thus not subject to any wear. They offer the advantage of absolute freedom from play, particularly in the case of reversing operation.

Pressure protection with directly actuated pressure control valves

Two separately adjustable pressure control valves for both direction of rotations protect the drive from excess load. Two return valves 0.2 bar are used to feed the occurring leak back in again externally to prevent motor cavitation.

Pressure protection with directly actuated pressure control valves and valve connection

With this block design, directional control valves, proportional or servo valves with connection according to DIN24340 form A6 or A10 are screwed directly to the motor. Favourable control or regulating behaviour is achieved thanks to the small volume of oil enclosed. A connection plate with two different hole patterns makes it possible to attach valves for motor control or regulation and brake control. Two separately adjustable pressure control valves protect the drive from excess load.

Rotary encoders

Incremental rotary encoders, rotary pulse encoders or absolute rotary encoders are terms used to describe sensors used for recording changes in position, which can be both rotary angle and direction of rotation. Incremental rotary encoders have a material measure with a repeating, periodic count track. The measurement is based on determination of direction and a count.

The rotary encoders are usually attached to the measuring shaft side of the hydro motor using a mounting dome and an elastic coupling. There are rotary encoders in slip-on versions available for particularly tight spaces, with a kind of compact-design torque support.
