AGFA

Agfa's Structurix Film Systems offers a comprehensive range of film types, equipment and chemicals - perfectly geared one to another. No object is too large or too small, an X-ray film of the appropriate size is available for every exposure. The Agfa emulsion provides increased contrast and maximum clarity of detail. Even the tiniest details can be seen clearly and interpreted easily.

The Right Film for the Job
The world market leader in industrial radiography, Agfa is also the producer of the industry's most widely used film types, STRUCTURIX films. The STRUCTURIX family builds on two critical facets of Agfa's advanced film technology: High-quality images and rugged performance, time after time. STRUCTURIX films' reputation for excellence is the result of Agfa's continuous striving for the highest product quality. Recently, the efforts of a large-scale, high-budget R&D project further enhanced STRUCTURIX film quality for Agfa customers.

Optimum Image Quality
STRUCTURIX films maintain a crucial edge over other leading films thanks to an Agfa emulsion breakthrough that provides increased contrast and maximum clarity of detail. Even the tiniest details can be seen clearly and interpreted easily. And we've given the image a pleasant blue tint to make it easy to read.
New international standards for film performance are currently being introduced. These standards use objective, measurable parameters to express the quality a user can expect from a particular system, a combination of film, processing type and chemicals.

Quality Through Design Innovation
To meet our customers' growing needs, Agfa builds quality into all our products through design innovation. Consequently, STRUCTURIX films have an outstandingly high level of batch-to-batch uniformity, and are acknowledged for their consistent results over a wide range of operating conditions. Here are just two of the major improvements Agfa has made to guarantee our customers a rugged quality film:

The emulsion coating on either side of the film base (1) is split into two layers (2+3). This increases the uniformity of grain distribution over the coating area, and results in perfect uniform densities.
The emulsion coatings are covered by two seperate antistress layers (4+5). To achieve a rugged surface, the top layer has received the matting agent.

Split Emulsion Layer (SEL) technology helps provide a particularly homogeneous emulsion over the entire coating area. This means that STRUCTURIX films have a much more uniform density distribution than films produced with conventional technologies.
Split Antistress Layer (SAL) is a special protective top coating which makes STRUCTURIX films highly resistant to pressure, scratching and creasing. It also optimises film handling in automatic feeders like the STRUCTURIX feeder

The STRUCTURIX NDT chemicals are supplied in containers made from clear polyethylene and are recyclable.

The concentrate containers are fitted with a safety seal. This seal is welded during production to the bottle to form a perfect airtight seal. When you remove the screw cap, a seal remains on the neck of the bottle. That's why a bottle can be placed upside down on a mixer.

Agfa also introduced an indication for the shelf life of the STRUCTURIX NDT chemicals. The 'exp.date' mentioning the year and the month of expiry, can be found on all the STRUCTURIX NDT shipping cartons as well as on the concentrate bottles.

Consult the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for information on safety, health and environmental aspects of the chemicals. Follow the safety instructions. Follow the user instructions on the bottles. Make sure there is adequate air exchange in the preparation room in order to prevent too high concentration of chemical fumes building up.

Manual processing

STRUCTURIX chemicals are designed to obtain the best processing quality with STRUCTURIX X-ray films. Together with the films and processors they form part of the dedicated Agfa NDT systems.
Agfa has introduced shipping cartons for its products, made out of recycled materials. The cardboard shipping cartons are userfriendly: each carton has two handles which make it easier to transport. In addition, all boxes are color coded red for developer and blue for fixer so the contents can be easily identified.

  STRUCTURIX G 128 developer : for the manual processing of industrial X-ray films. G 128 is a one-part bath.
STRUCTURIX G 335 fixer can be used for manual processing applications. G 335 fixer is a 2 part concentrate.

Automatic processing

STRUCTURIX G 135 developer : for the automatic processing of industrial X-ray films. G 135 consists of three parts (A, B, and C) wich must always be used together. This developer is very stable, both in the concentrated and the ready-to- use form, thanks to efficient protection from oxidation.
STRUCTURIX G 135 starter is supplied separately.
STRUCTURIX G 335 fixer can be used for automatic processing applications. G 335 fixer is a 2 part concentrate.

Cleaning products

New: More efficient cleaning solutions
AGFA offers its own liquid cleaning product for regular maintenance of fixer and wash water areas in processors and chemistry mixers: FIXCLEAN. This cleaning compound is based on sodium hydroxide. It is not only highly efficient, but it does moreover not contain any chlorine based substances, so that the rinsing water can normally be drained as waste water.

Agfa's range of STRUCTURIX film processors guarantees you the right machine for your needs.

NDTS eco: Agfa's latest processor in the STRUCTURIX range
NDTU: its solid construction makes it reliable wherever it's installed, even off-shore
NDTM eco: compact and easy-to-transport at home in a laboratory or in an on-site darkroom

All STRUCTURIX NDT processors feature infra-red drying, which reduces energy consumption, helps keep the dark room temperature down, and guarantees that films dry evenly. STRUCTURIX processors also use a minimum of water, giving a low ecological impact.

In addition to processors, the STRUCTURIX system includes other components:

STRUCTURUX Feeder: converts STRUCTURIX processors into a unique and practical daylight system
STRUCTURIX Mixer: helps you automate processing even further
STRUCTURIX Dryer: is an ideal addition for NDT departments that do not yet use automatic processors
