Multiturn encoder Our multiturn encoder is used when you not only want to keep track of the position, but also the number of rotations your machine has made. The resolution of the absolute position is 13 bits (8192) and 12 bits (4096) for the number of rotations. By connecting two multiturn encoders to the safety bus on Pluto you are able to meet the demands of safety category 4 or SIL 3.
