Working principle
A float with a built-in magnet moves with the surface level of the medium being measured along a guide tube in which one or more reed switches are installed. The magnet actuates the contacts at the pre-set positions thus allowing the monitoring of individual filling levels
Area of application
Suitable for almost all liquids.
Special versions can carry out interface level measurements.
Temperature
-196 °C to 250 °C (up to 350 °C available as an option)
Pressure
From vacuum to 40 bar (4 MPa). (Versions for higher pressures available.)
Materials
Stainless-steel, Titanium, Hastelloy, PVC, polypropylene, PVDF, PTFE, Teflon and E - CTFE coatings.
Output
S' Switch: closes as the float rises
O' Switch: opens as the float rises
U' Switch: changeover contact (SPDT - simple changeover switch).
Contact protection relays and controllers are available.
Fitting and Types
Flange mounted or screw-in thread, with installation from below or above. For the angled version the inlet is at the side. Several switching points are possible for each magnetic float switch (standard version: up to 8; more on enquiry). Length of the slider tube up to 12,000 mm in one piece and up to 25,000 mm made from several parts. Versions are available for the foodstuffs industr
