The Ronan Model X120 Multiplexer is designed to continuously monitor up to 48 dry field contacts, voltage transmissions (live contacts), or solid state switching devices (SCR’s, Transistors, etc.). The unit transfers the status of all inputs, open or closed, alarmed or normal via serial communication to the receiver, a Digital Control System (DCS), Plant Computer, or Serial Input Device such as the Ronan Model X110 Visual Annunciator Controller. The X120 features two types of termination facilities, standard compression or quick disconnect compression, allowing simple disconnect of an input for ground fault isolation or disabling a point.
The 48 inputs are optoisolated to provide isolation between input signals as well as field contact and logic voltage. The inputs are continuously scanned and their state transferred to the receiver via the Ronan proprietary protocol. For applications with more than 48 inputs, up to 32 Model X120 units can be daisy-chain connected to form a single serial output which monitors the status of up to 1536 dry or live contacts or solid state switching devices.
The input state changes are digitally filtered for 16 milliseconds before being transmitted over the high speed serial communication line.
Each unit may be equipped with single or redundant power supplies for logic and field contact voltage. The power supplies are available for 115 VAC, 220 VAC, 50/60Hz and 24 VDC, 48 VDC or 125 VDC source. The field contact wetting voltage is 24 VDC or 125 VDC, providing total isolation between logic and field contact voltage. The X120 optionally features ground fault detection for every 24 inputs with LED indication and relay contact output.
Self-test, status, com. error, and loss of power is displayed by means of LED indicators. The loss of power supply voltage will de-energize the self-test relay. Manual input test for all 48 inputs may be initiated by depressing the reset pushbutton. A failed input channel ID is transmitted to the host. Test failure and communication errors are indicated on a LED and the horn relay will be activated
More Info PriceThe Ronan Model X110 Serial Input Visual Annunciator provides for a more economical and advanced technical approach than a conventional, split architecture annunciator system. Plant distributed process contacts are multiplexed and the status information transferred via serial link to the X110 controllers. This approach eliminates long runs of multiconductor cables from the field contacts to the annunciator logic and displays.
A typical serial input annunciator consists of a conventional window or graphic display and a number of integral or remote mounted X110 controllers. Each controller services up to 48 windows, indicators, or repeater relays. For larger applications, additional controllers are daisy-chain connected to receive the serial data from a standard ASCII port of a Sequence of Events Recorder (SER), Programmable Controller (PLC), Distributed Control System (DCS), Plant Computer, or X120 Field Multiplexers.
Menu driven programming provides: Selection of 16 alarm sequences; window assignments; normally open or closed field contact selection; and activation/deactivation of any alarm point using a standard terminal or personal computer. Each controller accepts 240 or 480 inputs to the 48 windows (outputs). The custom configurations are stored in non-volatile EEPROMS's.
