Working principle
The ultrasound sensor generates an acoustic pulse which is linked to the liquid through the container wall. The sound is reflected from the opposite wall of the container if there is a medium between the two. The echo is then received again by the sensor (ultrasound pulse echo process). The echo signal is then analysed in the KSR UltraControl. If no liquid is present there is no reflection, as the ultrasound pulse is not carried through air or gas. For special applications sensors are also available for the sound transmission process and the extinction of oscillation procedure.
Area of application
For monitoring liquids which must be measured absolutely without contact (e.g. bio reactors).
Temperature
-20 °C to +60 °C (+135 °C optional)
Pressure
Independent of pressure since it is mounted outside the container.
Output
1 to 3 switched outputs, depending on the analysis unit.
Fitting and Types
The KSR ultrasound measurement type UltraControl is used for the contactless registering of a specific liquid level in containers. The sensors are simply fixed onto the container wall from outside, which means that it is possible to fit them afterwards without incurring great expense.
