This Zurich (Switzerland) based unit is dedicated to mass transportation products and services. Its activities cover material deliveries such as aluminium semis, finished components and different system accessories as well as the design and development of bus bodies and technical support for rail vehicle solutions.
Being a traditional and globally established manufacturer of aluminium products and composite materials, ALCAN has for many years applied the advantageous properties of aluminium, namely low weight and corrosion resistance, to develop cost-effective vehicle structures which allow easy manufacturing with minimal environmental impact.br>
Using the multi-material approach, the specialised engineers of ALCAN EXTRUDED PRODUCTS in cooperation with the ALCAN R&D centres and the production plants combine aluminium products with composites and other materials to create modern hybrid vehicle designs. This allows the optimum use of each material to the benefit of the total system solution.
