KABMag Electromagnetic Flowmeter The operation of magnetic flowmeters is based on Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction. Magmeters can detect the flow of conductive fluids only. The magnetic flowmeter consists of non-magnetic pipe lined with an insulating material. Advantages of using electromagnetic flowmeters include unrestricted pipe cross-section and independence of density and fluid viscosity.
