Jumper receptacle ZS552 Jumper receptacle in new design The new receptacle of the UIC552 connector series for railway vehicles equipped with a train line is Schaltbau’s response to the requirements of today’s railways. It comes with a symmetrical design, so that it can be mounted both to the left and the right of the vehicle. The same is true for the key lock which can also be implemented on either the left or the right side. The receptacle now has a single common terminal for connecting cables entering from the left, right or the rear, and its contact insert can be replaced from the front, so there is no need of disassembling the whole receptacle for that purpose any longer. The seal and drainage of the lid have been improved and the receptacle as a whole has been redesigned to allow for higher clearances and creepage distances in order to comply with overvoltage category OV3/PD4 as required by most railways. And for maintenance an optional lock and key is available. Thus the new ZS552 will provide for more safety and handling comfort.
